Island of Korčula belongs to the Central Dalmatian
group of islands. The Pelješac channel (127o) devides
it from the Pelješac peninsula which together with it
make an integral tourist zone. The whole region numbers
20.000 inhabitans who are mainly occupied in
shipbuilding, seafaring, agriculture and tourism. Famos
wines and oils originate from this region. Along the
coast of Korčula there are about 50 little islands which
are beautiful to see and offer excellent beaches. A very
pleasant climate with approximately 3.000 sunny hours
a year.

 

 

 

 


Korčula has good conection with the mainland,
specially by means of comfortable car-ferries and fast
hydrofoil boats. Korčula is the greenest island of the
Adriatic; thick forests of the beautifull pine-trees make
it extremly attractive. The whole Riviera abounds in
museums, galleries, and regular performances expressing
rich folklore inheritance and hekd-                         MOREŠKA dance,KUMPANIJA and concerts of Dalmatian songs.


Nice sand, pebble and rock beches add to the
attractiveness of Riviera. Naturists can enjoy in several
secluded beaches reserved for them. Comfortable
accomodation of different kind is open for a limeted
number of tourists only so that tourists never surpass
the native population in number. With a variety of
services, medical service, post office ect., Korčula is
also the most inhabited and developed island on the
Adriatic.
